It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Friday, August 2nd, 2019 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Filomena for 64 years. Dear father of Robert (Dolores), Antonietta (Luciano) D’Intino, Dino (Vesna) and Dennis (Lisa). Cherished Nonno (Tatone) of Jennifer (David), Adam (Erin), Brian (Nastya), Andrew (Laura), Gabriel, Matteo, Scarlett and Vincent. Loving great-grandfather of Noah, Annie, Keaton, June and Claire. Survived by his brother Alfonso, sisters Carina and Maddalena. Predeceased by siblings Antonietta, Carmine, Maria Palma and Italia.
Ferdinando was an original, active member of Club Roma for 58 years. He was an usher and member of St. Alfred's Church, member of The Club Roma Choir, on the Board of Retirees Group, Club Roma and Senior Group at St. Alfred's Church. He enjoyed volunteering and being involved in many activities and fundraisers, Feast of Mount Carmel, Tia Amo picnic, Club Roma Soccer, to name a few. Ferdinando loved attending his grandchildren’s sports games, even out of town - lacrosse, hockey, soccer, and rarely missed a game! He had a passion for gardening, wine making and reading. His favourite TV show was Price is Right, other than watching the Maple Leafs with our mom. An avid card player who loved to win! He was a very social, people person, always a remark or two, but always with a smile. A strong man with even stronger convictions who took time to provide for all of his family, loved by so many.
We will miss you so much! Forever in our hearts!
Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Tuesday, August 6th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Tuesday at 3 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, August 7th at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Niagara Children’s Centre would be appreciated.
