Obituary of William "Bill" Walters

With sadness we announce the passing of a dear Husband, Father, Grandpa and Brother Bill, on July 18, 2019 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of 52 years to Anne. Loving Dad to Bill Jr., Jerry and Susan (Steve) Christie. Cherished Grandpa to Brianna, Shayna, Samantha, Simone, Sawyer and Sydney. He will be dearly missed by his siblings Millie, Mary, Carol and Bev, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Frederick and Dorothy, siblings Lilian, Fred, George and Jean.

Bill was a devoted member of St. John’s Ukrainian Catholic Church and sang in the Choir. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus council #1394. Bill enjoyed hiking with the Bruce Trails Hiking Club. He enjoyed metal detecting and was a long-time member of the Canadian Heritage Seekers. He also enjoyed Line Dancing, fishing, camping every summer and yearly vacations with Anne to Cuba. Bill was extremely proud of the Garlic Harvest that he planted every fall.

In accordance with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday, July 22, 2019 from 9-11 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow in the funeral home’s ceremony room at 11 a.m. Private family Inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the St. John’s Ukrainian Catholic Church.
