Peacefully John passed away, surrounded by his heartbroken family. Beloved husband of 52 years to Mary Lou. Wonderful dad to Mary Jo (Ron), John (Marylou), Jennifer (Tom), and Susan (Dave). Loving Poppi to Joseph (Britt), Patrick, Mairead, Emily, Grace, Owen, Johnny, Bea, and Lucy. Proud Great-Poppi of River, Ryerson, Maevyn, Rhett. Cherished brother of Theresia Durrwachter. He will be dearly missed by all his extended family, friends and his cat Bella. John came to Canada from Germany in the 1950s and started his electrical contracting business that was his passion. He'll always be remembered for his love for his family, his funny way of saying things, and the twinkle in his eyes. In keeping with John's wishes, cremation has taken place. Please join his family for a Celebration of John's life on Wednesday, May 8 from 3-7 p.m. at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Hotel Dieu Health and Rehabilitation Centre would be appreciated by John's family.
His light will shine on in all who knew him.
