Linda and Daniel - I am so sorry to hear the news of Bill's passing and send my condolences to you both. I have so many great memories working with Bill over so many years at IBM - quarter ends when he would have multiple phones pulled into his office from the office next door trying to coordinate all of the shipments from Raleigh and Guad, 7am baseball calls with Fred in Florida, Blue Jay opening day festivities and team trips up north just to name a few. They all had the same theme - work hard and play harder. Bill had an amazing sense of fun and family and it brought us all closer. Even after he retired, he would call every now and again to connect and see how things were going - he never stopped caring about the people. I know he will be missed by so many. Alison

Very sad news of the passing of great guy. I worked with Bill at IBM for many years and never had so much fun while getting paid.
Bill and I(and Mike Lizzard Lizotte) used to travel to Lexington, Kentucky for business. The business always ended with several pops at many different establishments. Bill would always be one of the last to leave and always the first to show up the next day. He was a very intelligent man and I learned a lot from him.
He will be missed...RIP my friend....

To all of Bill's family, I am sorry for your loss... it's everyone's loss. Bill was the best manager I ever had at IBM... and one of the nicest and genuine person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I think they broke the mold after they made Bill.... I wish they hadn't done that... the world would be a better place with more people like Bill in it. I share your sorrow... I will miss him with you.

So very sad to hear this news Linda and Daniel…our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I worked with Bill for many years at IBM. In my 30+ years, I have never seen anyone work as hard, but play just as hard as Bill…he sure knew how to have fun! I have had so many great times and memories with Bill there are too many to mention but Blue Jay home openers were always a favourite with Bill and friends. One of Bill’s favourite sayings was “It doesn’t get any better than this” ...….well Bill, “They don’t come any better than you my friend”. I will be sure to have a cold one in your honour tonight…RIP.

Dear Aunt Linda and Daniel,
With a heavy heart I send my love. Some of my best childhood and teenage memories come from the summer trips I took up to Ontario and staying with you all. I got to venture out and experience The Big City of Toronto with my Uncle Bill. From eating at his favourite hot dog vendors to visiting the Hockey Hall of Fame and reenacting his childhood heroes most famous moments to sitting behind home plate watching Jason Giambi crush our winning hopes for our beloved Jay's with a 3 run homer in the top of the ninth... Come to think of it, every single Jay's game we went to, they lost. Haha.
I know you haven't missed a game since your passing and do look forward to watching another game with you, one day, once again. I hope that is the day we finally see them win one for us!
Love Always your Nephew James

I am so sad to hear tha Bill had passed. I was the HR manager in 14th Avenue (IBM) while Bill worked as the inventory Manager. He worked so hard and long hours that we constantly worried about him. I started to run into him at the St Catharines Starbucks . He would ride his bike there from his home in Port Dalhousie. We had great chats and laughs many time and the staff all knew him. I will miss him a lot, he was a super kind person.

Sports were very important to Bill and he passed that joy on to me. I was the younger brother tagging along as Bill and his buddies played each seasonal sport. During hockey season Bill taught me to skate, pass and shoot. With spring it was time for baseball where Bill gave me my first glove and taught me to switch hit at the plate. As fall arrived, it was football and Bill would make sure to throw passes my way. The thrill of sports stays with me to this day and as I watch the ongoing Stanley Cup playoffs I think of Bill in his new home sitting with Dad and his buddies, enjoying the sports scene with a cold brew in hand. Cheers and thanks for being a leader to a younger brother!
