Obituary of Giuseppe (Joe) Giunta
Giunta, Giuseppe (Joe) 1931-2019
Passed away peacefully, in the arms of his loving son, his wife and his family by his side, at his home in Niagara-On-The-Lake, on Thursday, April 4, 2019 in his 88th year. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Vittoria Giunta of 43 years and his only son Emanuele (Christina). Pre-deceased by his daughter Carmela Maria Consolata Giunta (February 12 1979). Loving nonno to Milania Victoria, Carina Josephine & Giuseppe (Joseph). Dear son of the late Emanuele and Carmela Giunta. In-laws of Leonardo and Josephine Sollazzo. Giuseppe will be greatly missed by family and friends in Italy and Australia as well as many close friends that were his family here in Canada.
Joe left Italy to work in Australia for 9 years, cutting sugar cane. He decided to learn English at 35 years old and become an Electrician. He came to Canada and worked in many provinces, as well as the USA, but he decided to settle in the town of Niagara-On-The-Lake, as it reminded him of Sicily, and it was a shorter flight to and from Italy. He worked tirelessly for numerous years to amass as much as he could for his future and potential family. He got married in Italy and moved here with his wife to start a family. Giuseppe (Joe) was a very ambitious and dedicated man that did anything and everything for his family. He has created an earthly kingdom and a legacy that will be cherished forever. Joe enjoyed working extremely hard and having fun when it was time to. Joe did not suffer, he never ran away from adversity, instead he would take it on head to head and persevere. He was allowed by GOD to prove his points through what they agreed to do for the last 12 years through various health conditions and miraculous recoveries. His entire earthly life he has been a teacher and he continues to be, in more ways than you can ever imagine. He and GOD decided it was time to leave his earthly home and be an angel for his beloved grandchildren and his entire Family. He will dance, sing, and work with all the angels as they go about their angelic duties.
Friends will be received at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 10th, 2019 with Vigil Prayers recited at 3:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold, on Thursday April 11th, 2019 at 10:45 a.m. with entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
