Also survived by his brother Charlie and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers Albert, Harvey, Johnny and Ross. Bill will be dearly missed by close friend and companion Eileen and furry friend Smokey.

Bill's passion for Japanese Bunka led to teaching for many years and volunteering at the Dunlop Seniors Centre. He was also a longtime member and treasurer of the Geranium Society, a parishioner and usher at Star of the Sea Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Thank you for the compassionate care he received from the Woolcott Wing of the Welland Hospital and a special thank you to the dialysis nurses at St. Catharines General who treated him so kindly for many years.
