COLACARRO, Mike “Mike the Barber”
Suddenly at home on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the age of 86. Beloved Husband of Evelina for 65 years. Loving Dad to Lina Tancredi, Pina (Egidio) Marconi and Lui (Sheila) Colacarro. Cherished Nonno to Melissa (Mike) Peso, Christopher (Lisa) Marconi, Alexander Marconi, Kristen and Michelle Colacarro and precious Bisnonno to Isabella Peso. Predeceased by his parents Luigi and Desolina and his siblings Giovanni and Lucia all from Italy. Much loved brother-in-law of Maria (the late Antonio) Storto. Predeceased by his sisters and brothers in law, Anita (Arturo) Vendittelli, Romilda (Lucio) DeLisio and Irene (Giovanni) D’Amore. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mike enjoyed watching the loves of his life, his grandchildren and great granddaughter grow up. He enjoyed watching and following all their activities. Mike was a well-known barber for over 65 years in which 50 of those years were spent on Linwell and Vine known as Mike’s Barber Shop. He just loved socializing with his customers. He was one of the founders of Club Roma, which he was highly respected. He volunteered and chaired many Sunday Bingos donating the winnings to the Niagara Children’s Centre. He was a member at the Italian Senior Centre where he enjoyed playing cards with many of his friends. Many thanks to Francesca Sacco for all her many years of loving dedication and care. The family would also like to thank all of Nurses and Dr.’s that have helped over the years. Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers being held at 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Alfred Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines, on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow Mass at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Hwy 20, Fonthill. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
