Ferrante, Ernesto.

 

Peacefully and suddenly at St Catharines General Hospital, on March 17th, 2019 in his 94th year.  He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 72 years Maria (LaSelva). Cherished father of Antonio (late MaryAnn) and Victoria (Mike) Magnotta. Nonno was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Grace (Dino), Arnaldo, Maria (Rob), Michelle (Peter), Anthony (Melinda), Maria and 18 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by Maria’s siblings Antonietta (Michele) DeMeo, Filomena (late Antonio) DeLisio, Antonio (Giuseppina) LaSelva, and many nieces and nephews. Ernesto was pre-deceased by parents Antonio & Emelia, brother Vincenzo (Antonietta), Sister Vittoria, Giovanni (Cecilia), Giuseppe (Carmela), and Nicola (Giuseppina).

He emigrated from Castellino Del Biferno Italy in 1965, to provide a better life for his family; he worked as a labourer in the construction industry for 25 years. His humour, and love of family will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday March 20th from 2-4 & 7-9pm, with Vigil Prayers at 3pm.  A funeral service will be held on 10am on Thursday March 21st in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Walker Family Cancer Centre
