D'ELIA, Michele (Mike)

Peacefully passed away in his sleep on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Chartwell Niagara in Niagara-on-the-Lake, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Maria Libera (nee: Marino). Loving dad of Perry (Bonnie). Proud grandpa of Matthew-Jim (Jennifer), Jon-Daniel (Hilary) and Don-Paul (Kari), and great grandpa of Joel, Isaac, Mirella, Charlotte (deceased), Matthew, Caleb, Evie, Flicker (deceased), Remy, and Simone. Mike is predeceased by his siblings Marianna (Michele), Concetta (Salvatore), and Antonio (Antoinetta), and is survived by Giovanni (Raphaela) all from Cercemaggiore, Campobasso, Italy.

Mike will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, Carmen, Robert, Vince (deceased), Lily, Gino, Carmella, Mario, Peter, Carmella, Pasqualina, Francesco, Pasquale, Vincenzo, Maria Libera, Filomena, Antoinetta, Angela, and Nicola.

Mike came to Canada in 1951, and worked most of his life here as a carpenter. In his retirement he enjoyed his garden, good food, family, and good humour.

Mike is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Mike's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Niagara Lake Shore Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be directed to the Michael J. Fox Foundation (Parkinson’s research), or Charity of Choice, and would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
