It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret, with family by her side, on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 in Ottawa, On. Beloved wife of the late Marvin (1989), married on December 27, 1954. Loving Mother to Briant, Gregory (Caroline), Derek (Debra), Carolyn (Raymond), Catharine and Philip (Sheldon). Cherished Grandmother to Marian (Hekuran), Taz (Danielle), James, Noah and Benjamin. Step-Grandmother to Dwayne (Wendy), Paul (Audrey), Laurie and Blair (Jackie). Step-Great Grandmother to Darcie, Isabella, Sofia, Hayden, Hailey and Emily. Sister to John, Peter, Cecilia, Regina, Frank and Agnes. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other extended family members. Margaret is predeceased by her parents Peter and Sophia Kovac and all of her siblings. Margaret was very involved with the Catholic Women’s League and with the Henley Island Helpers. Margaret had a love for gardening, taking care of her house plants, doing ceramics and crafts. She is a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunt. Her kind heart and generous spirit will be missed and never forgotten. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Monday, March 4, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines, on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. Following Mass, Rite of Committal will be held at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Hwy 20, Fonthill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church or a charity of choice.
