Obituary of Michael James Scrutton

SCRUTTON, Michael James

It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Michael, at age 71, born in Kinston, on Oct. 2 1947. Devoted son of Eva and the late Mathew. He is survived by his sister Barbara (Stanley) Krock, nieces and nephews; Cynthia Parkinson, Valerie Cullen, Daniel Dawson, Tyler Dawson, Jobyna Dawson, Step children Darcy-Lynn and Johnathan McComber, grandchildren Devin McComber and Kylie Huntington. He will also be missed by his many grand nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a special big sister Margaret Anne.

Michael was a loyal General Motors Employee who retired after 30 years of service. He was also an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, boating, four wheeling, snowmobiling and hunting. Michael volunteered at the Port Dalhousie Boat Launch. He was a member in good standing of the Pine Crest Revolver Club and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. Michael religiously enjoyed Sunday dinners with his mother, as well as enjoying time with his step children and grandchildren.

In accordance with Michael’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 12p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
