BALAN, Margaret

Passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the age of 65. Cherished and loved wife of 43 years to Edward. Loving mother of Stephen, Shaun (Sarah), Stuart (Tara), Sarah (Byron), and Alie (Josh). Proud Nana to Chris, Hailey, Emily, Hayley, Makayla, Cole, Katey, Briar, Peyton and Parker. Beloved daughter of Edith and the late James McClean. Dear sister of Carol and James (Penny). Margaret will also be fondly remembered by Baba, many nieces and nephews. Margaret was a Registered Nurse, and graduated with the last class of the Mack School of Nursing. She volunteered with Girl Guides, Scouts Canada, Maywood and Harriet Tubman Public schools. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, February 28 from 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Friday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 205 Linwell Road, St. Catharines. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice.
