Obituary of Olive Marguerite Whitcomb

On Saturday January 26, Olive (Polly) Whitcomb (nee McKelvey) passed peacefully at age 91. Born and raised in Cherry River, Quebec, Polly moved to St. Catharines in 1950 after marrying her husband and soul mate of 67 years, Bob who passed in 2017. Loving mother to Crystal (Jim Lewyckyj), Hal (Debbie Simpson), Lyndal and David (Mari Kaukonen). Cherished Grandma to Carlie (John), Jeffrey (Breton), Dustin, Leslie-Anne, Bryn (Siobhan), Kyler, Kally and Samantha (Chris). Beloved Great-Grandma to Olivia, Peighton, Charlie Rose, Ellie, Adyson and Bennett.

Polly is survived by her brother Lyle and sister Winifred (Burk) and predeceased by brothers Robert, Francis, Everett and John and sisters Doris (Ellisor), Albania (Hornett), Jenny and Alma (Payne).

Public gathering will take place at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Friday between 3-7 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 12 Noon, with cremation to follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region, or The Canadian Cancer Society.
