Obituary of Richard (Dick) Hoogasian
HOOGASIAN, Richard (Dick)-Peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 22nd at Shaver Hospital in his 94th year surrounded by his devoted family. Predeceased by his loving wife Edna (nee Kalagian) and sister Isabel Aranosian. He will be greatly missed by his brother Henry, children Richelle (Pat), Laura (Brian), Robyn (Curtis) and Michael (Teresa). Loving grandfather to Lyndsay, Andrea, Sean (Laura), Lauren (Cory), Cara, Ricky, Jamie, Ally, Cameron, Maxwell, great grandchild Landon and future great grandbabies baby girl Leahy and baby girl Schoonings. Dick was in the Canadian Navy stationed in Halifax. He returned to St. Catharines where he worked at McKinnons/GM for 47 years. After retirement he enjoyed his weekly jaunts over the river to play the ponies, watch his grandchildren play sports and tend to his garden. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews and is fondly remembered by all who knew him. The family would like to thank Dr. Luce and the helpful, kind staff at the Shaver Hospital. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Saturday, January 26th from 4-8p.m. A Celebration of Dick’s Life will take place on Sunday, January 27th at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
