MASCITELLI, Carmine Antonio
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Maria Giuseppina (2014). Dear father of Antonio (Marilyn), the late Dominic (1985), Mario (Laura), and Amy (Ivan) Jemison. Much loved Nonno of Michael (Kerri), Adam, Heather (Todd) Arbour, Dean, Eric, Riley and Tanner. Proud Bisnonno of Marleigh, Kaya and Karan. Brother to Ascenzino Mascitelli and the late Stella Chiocchio. Carmine will also be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Maria Mascitelli.
Carmine was born in Castropignano, Italy and moved to Canada in 1955. He worked for Aimco Industries as a Molder and Machine Operator for 45 years. Carmine was one of the founding members of Club Castropignano. He was an active member of the St. Alfred's Italian Community Centre, as well as St. Alfred's Parish, where he served as an usher at the 10:30 a.m. mass for 30 years. Carmine was a hardworking person, an avid traveler, and above all else was dedicated to his family and the time he spent with them. He is now at peace, playing cards with his wife Maria. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Henley House and NHS-St. Catharines for their comfort and care.
Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Sunday, January 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Carmine's life will be held on Monday, January 28 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home ceremony room. Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Reception to take place at the funeral home. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society.
