SCHALL, Anton

Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2019 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Margareta. Loving father of Monica (Darrell) Firby and Tony (Rachelle) Schall. Cherished Opa to Tamra Firby, Amanda Firby (Simon MacDonald), Rebecca (Ryan) Belic and Robyn Schall (Steve Johns). Great-Opa to Avery and Gavin. Also survived by his sister Inge (the late Bill) Einsel. Anton immigrated to Canada in 1954 from Germany, settling in Hamilton at first, and later in St. Catharines. He worked as a pipe fitter for General Motors for 28 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and travelling. In keeping with Anton's wishes, cremation has taken place and an interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
