Obituary of Peter Anthony Patterson
September 7, 1944 - December 22, 2018. Father of Rod (Angela), Sarah (Josh), and Brad (Alicia). Adored by his grandchildren Dylan, Sophia, Jack and Benjamin. Loving partner of Suzanne Papp. Also survived by siblings Ruth, Mary, and Patrick, as well as many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his parents Hugh and Letitia, and brother Paul.
Heaven gained an angel. Peacefully, with his family by his side, our dad lost his long and courageous battle with cancer. His strength throughout his battle is something to be admired and something we will never forget. He never complained, never got angry, and put on a brave face until the end.
He spent his remaining time, surrounded by family and friends, at Hospice Niagara; a truly remarkable facility. The staff were among the most compassionate and genuinely caring people we have ever met. We cannot fully express the gratitude we have for the care they provided.
To the countless family and friends that visited him in his final days, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It gave us an incredible sense of peace to know that he was never alone.
Dad, you will continue to live on in our hearts and will never be forgotten. May you now finally rest in peace.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday December 30th from 10am-12pm, at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St, St. Catharines, with a service at noon in the chapel. At Peter’s request cremation has taken place. If so desired donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
