I've known Les since I was 15 years old. My initial encounters with him were intimidating and he even occasionally scared the crap out of me. I think he did that to see if I was worthy of dating his beautiful daughter. Despite that however, over the years I was able to earn his respect and love. There were many occasions where we spent time together like; camping when Michael was in the Boy Scouts, building decks and fences. He even rescued me several times when my bike broke down on the QEW while I was returning home from work. If I were in need of his help he would always be available. Les was very passionate about the golf group he was involved with and he oftentimes went out of his way to include me as a guest, so much so that others in that group thought I was a regular member. He treated me as a son and not only do I consider him to be the only father I ever really had but also my friend.

Live Forever
Rick Anderson
Nov 05, 2018
I thought you’d live forever.
Thought you’d go on and on.
I thought your time was never.
But, you were only human all along.
You aimed for perfection.
Pure as a sunny day.
But, once in awhile,
Clouds got in your way.
You saw right; sometimes left,
But, seldom in between.
You lived on your own terms,
Chased your own kind of dream.
If I could go back for a moment,
And somehow be with you,
I’d hug you just a little longer,
And say, “I love you too.”
I thought you’d live forever.
Thought you’d go on and on.
I thought your time was never.
You’d be here,
But now,
you’re gone.

Aunt Jean, Barb, Rick and families. Know we are praying for you. I have memories of Uncle Les from our younger years that bring a smile to my face but my most heartfelt memory was Rick taking Uncle Les to see Dad.The hug he gave dad enveloped Lori and my hearts. I will remember that kindness. Love Lynn and Brian.
