Obituary of Claire Loretta Kinash (nee Kervin)
Claire Loretta Kinash (nee Kervin)
Claire passed away peacefully at the age of 90 at Niagara Regional Hospital, St. Catharines on Thursday, October 4 with her daughter Gail and son-in-law Des by her side. Claire is survived by her brother, Ralph, and several cousins, nieces and nephews who all loved her for her caring, gentle nature. Claire was born in Moncton, NB on November 26, 1927 and had eight siblings. She is predeceased by six of them, as well as her son, Brian, and husband, Bill. She married Bill, an RCAF man, in Moncton on December 31, 1945 and briefly lived in Winnipeg before relocating to Montreal with Air Canada. There they raised their two children, Brian & Gail, and later retired to St. Catharines, ON in 1983 to be near their daughter. After Bill’s death in 2000, Claire lived in their home until 2007 when she moved to Vineland to live with her daughter. Claire had a happy and healthy life with them for 11 years enjoying gardening, reading and the surrounding nature until her health quickly declined over the past few months. In keeping with Claire's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no visitation or service. A private family interment will take place in her hometown of Moncton at a later date where she will rejoin her beloved Brian and Bill. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to Lupus Canada Research Fund, 615 Davis Drive, Suite 306, Newmarket, ON L3Y 2R2.
