Obituary of Sophie Wowk (nee Didylowski)

Wowk, Sophie Anna (nee Didylowski) - With heavy hearts the family announces the sudden passing of our dear Sophie at her home on September 21, 2018 at the age of 84. Predeceased by her beloved husband Peter (December 2014), sister Alice and brother Michael. Loving mother to Stephen (Nancy) and Daniel (Yvonne). Cherished Baba to Brian (Angela), Lindsey (Chris), Michael, Christopher, and Craig. Beloved Great Baba to Lincoln and Elliot. Will be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Karen, Maryanne and many loving family members and close friends. Sophie was a devout parishoner for many years at St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church and volunteered countless hours assisting in the church kitchen. She worked in the jewelry department at Sears for over 25 years.

All are invited to visit with the family at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Wednesday between 2-4 pm and 6 - 8 pm . Panachyda will be said in the funeral home at 7:30 pm. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated for Sophie at St. John The Theologian Ukrainian Catholic Church, 91 Lakeshore Road, on Thursday at 10 am with burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.  Donations may be made to St. John's Ukrainian Church Building Fund in Sophie's memory.
