After a life well lived, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Bodak on Saturday, September 1st, 2018 with family by his side. Predeceased by his wife Mary. Survived by his loving children Darlene “Daria” (Murray), Michael and Dmytro. Proud Dido to Francis (Jill), Carina (Michael), Ciaran (Emi), Sascha and Malachy.
Michael was born in Wowci, Ukraine in 1923 and immigrated to Canada in 1950. Michael retired from Ontario Paper after 30 years of service and was a member of SUM, The Black Sea Hall, the Myrhorod Seniors Group and a long-time parishioner of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday, September 10th, 2018 from 5 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. with Panachyda at 7 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Building Fund.
Michael’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff in 3B at NHS-SC, as well as Dr. Negan and Dr. Carl Fung.
