Obituary of Alfred Hutton Stockwell
STOCKWELL, Alfred (Alf) Hutton - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018 at Hospice Niagara at the age of 68. Much loved husband of 45 years to Mariette (nee Laliberte). Devoted father to Sarah Barclay (Ben), Jane Stockwell (Ken), Emily McMahon (Sean), Alfred Stockwell Jr. (Devon), Kathleen Keenan (Brad) and Karen Schram (Mike). Treasured Papa Alf to 18 grandchildren: David, Alexander, William, Joseph, Matthew, Stephen, Neko, Jenna, Tayler, Nathan, Brayden, Kyla, Corey, Megan, Calvin, Remi, Lincoln and Locke. Cherished brother of Eleanor O'Connor (Terry), Mary Honsberger (Roger), Margaret Drennan (the late Graham), Laura McQuillan (Paul), the late Tom Stockwell, Veronica Stockwell and Andrew Stockwell (Anna). Cherished son-in-law to Majella Laliberte and dear brother in-law to Lucie Laliberte (Larry), Sonja Pizzacalla (Len) the late Gerry, and Diane Elliott (Ron). Alf was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and will be missed by his church family. He had a great love for his transit friends, and will be missed by many in St.Catharines, Mississauga and Welland Transit. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Saturday, August 25th from 2-4p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, August 26th from 5-8p.m. A brief visitation will take place on Monday August 27th from 10a.m.at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 785 Warner Road, St. David's followed by a Funeral Service for Alfred at 11a.m. in the chapel. Burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara.
