Obituary of Hazel Mary Piggot

Hazel Piggot

1939-2018

Mum passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones at Linhaven on Saturday August 18. She is now forever reunited with Norrie P. She is survived by her four children, Ken (Amy), Allison, Brian, Maureen; Grandsons Alex, Greg and Eric; brother Tommy and many cousins and extended family here in Canada, Scotland and the USA. Hazel was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Agnes, Thomas Connor, brothers Gordon and Billy and the love of her life, Norman.

She bravely came to Canada at the age of 18 and lived in Montreal. Norm followed her here from Dundee and they married in 1963. She worked at Stewart & Hinan, Bank of Montreal, Beattie's Stationary and our family business, North End Television. Mum was the coolest concert Mom, driving Ken and Jay to all their concerts, Dance Mom to Allison, Wendy, Debbie, Maureen and Roseanne, driving us to many competitions in Canada and the USA. Baseball Mom to Brian and Snow Day Chauffeur to all our friends at St. Ann's in the Station Wagon! She was the Co-Pilot and Navigator on our many family vacations to Florida. She enjoyed travelling with Norm, going on many Caribbean Cruises, trips to Scotland and Las Vegas. She enjoyed watching the Toronto Blue Jays, Figure Skating and many shows in Toronto. Her trifle, turkey soup and strawberry jam will be missed by many!

Words cannot express our sincere thanks to our extended family at Linhaven Home for the care Mum received the past 9 years, and your compassion in her final days will never be forgotten. Many thanks to Brad and Nancy for the entertainment over the years, Mum truly enjoyed it! A celebration of Hazel's life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Niagara or Friends of Linhaven. Cheers Hazel and Norrie P!
