Obituary of Patti Petrowski (nee Paolozzi)

Petrowski, Patti (nee Paolozzi) - On August 10, 2018 at Hospice Niagara in the presence of her loving family at the age of 64. Predeceased by her beloved parents Johnny and Lolly Paolozzi. Devoted mom to Scott (Stephanie) Russell, Paul (Megan) Russell and John. Cherished Meema/Grammy to Lauren, Jenna, Archie and Alice. Loving sister to Kim and her husband Mark Reynolds, Jill van der Zalm and John and his wife Tammy Paolozzi. Will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Jonathan, Jennifer, DJ, Julie (Matt) and her son Jake, Bobby, Sam, Will and many loving family members and close friends.Patti graduated from Mack School of Nursing in 1974 and went on to a 37 year career in healthcare at the Shaver Hospital in St. Catharines. She had a reputation of being a kind and compassionate nurse who often exceeded expectations and was outwardly proud of her vocation. It truly was her calling as she dedicated herself to helping and supporting all those around her. Patti transitioned into management towards the end of her career and retired from her position as the clinical manager of in-patient healthcare services in 2011. In retirement, Patti became an avid golfer and shared her love for the game while working a part-time job at Golf Town, where she became the work-mom to all her “Golf Town children”. She was a 30-year member of the St. Peter PTA ladies, not to mention a foodie, traveller, tennis enthusiast, lover of musicals, passionate celebrator of all holidays, and voracious reader… all when she wasn't busy being a great mom, grandmother, aunt, and sister. Visitation will take place at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Wednesday August 15, 2018 between 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Cremation has already taken place. Celebration of Patti's life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday August 16, 2018 at 11am with visitation an hour before. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara or charity of one's choice in Patti's honour.
