Obituary of Suzanne Hastings (nee Radford)

Hastings, Suzanne (nee Radford) - Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at Hospice Niagara on July 27, 2018 at the age of 68. Loving wife to David of 48 years. Cherished mother to the late Matthew (2000) and Rebecca (Ryan) Beresh. Devoted Nana to Tommy and Mikey. Beloved sister to David (late Vi) Radford, Hilliard (Dawn) Radford, late Terry, and Brian (Danuta) Radford. Suzy will be fondly remembered by her many loving family members and very close friends. Predeceased by her parents William and Gertrude Radford and her parents-in-law Gordon and Mary Vida.
Suzy was employed for 32 years at General Motors.  After retirement, she started a business called Cemetery Gardening Angels who helped families that were unable to tend to their loved one's graves at cemeteries within the Niagara region. She was invovled with a committee that over saw the Welland Canal Fallen Workers Memorial. Above all things Suzy loved the most was her family, especially her two adoring grandsons and daughter that she would do anything for. The family would like to extend their appreciation for the wonderful support and care given to Suzy to the staff at both Hospice Niagara and Walker Cancer Centre - NHS. Special thanks to Dr. Yelamanchili for her execptional care and attention given to mom.
Visitation will take place on August 1, 2018 at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street between 1-3 and 6-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Columba Anglican Church, 7 St. Columba Drive on August 2, 2018 at 11am. Cremation will follow the service. Memorial donations in Suzy's honour may be made to Hospice Niagara or Walker Cancer Centre - NHS.
