WOOD, John Douglas “Doug”

November 21, 1931 in Galt, On- June 30, 2018 St. Catharines, On

Passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife, while surrounded by his family and friends. Survived by his loving and faithful wife Barb of 66 years, his loving sons, David (Maryam) and Don (Joan). Doug is loved by his granddaughter Lauren. Papa will be forever loved and missed by his grandson Tayler, who promised to take care of the Mustang. He will be remembered by his brother Bob (Eileen) as well as nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Sam and Jessie Wood. Doug was a devoted member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, and belonged to the Historical Automobile Society of Canada, enjoying the old car life. A man who touched many lives, he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. The family would like to thank all of their friends and family for their continuous support, love and prayers. In accordance with Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines, on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, July 6, 2018, at 10 a.m. at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 677 Niagara St. St. Catharines. Memorial Donations can be made to Autism Ontario—Niagara Chapter or to The Church of the Good Shepherd.
