Obituary of Vito Vendittelli

Vendittelli, Vito - Passed away at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at the age of 81. Beloved husband to Jean (nee Kewell) for 57 years. Devoted dad to Steven, Mark (Francesca Spione) and Robert (Heather). Cherished Papa to Jessie, Olivia, Emma; Rikki, Joshua and their mother Tracey Naylor-Vendittelli. Beloved brother to Mario (Jeannine),  Carmel Costantini and many loving family members and close friends. Predeceased by his parents Concetta and Nicola, and brother Battista.Vito was employed as a welder at General Motors for 30 years; long time member at Club Roma, parishoner at St. Alfred's Church; and YMCA. He also liked to fish and walk in Port Dalhousie; was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan; volunteered at St. Alfred's Church with their out of cold program; and made his own sausage, sauce, wine and tended to his vegetable garden. The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the personal support workers who took care of Vito at his home and the team at St. Catharines General Hospital - Respiratory Unit.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Friday between 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home at 3 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, on Saturday at 9:30 am with burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Steve Ludzik Centre for Rehabilitation or Hotel Dieu Shaver Rehabilitation in Vito's honour.
