Obituary of John Neprily
NEPRILY, John
Peacefully, after a short illness in his 90th year, John Neprily died in St. Catharines on June 11, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Predeceased by his wives Mary (1987) and Marj (2017), his son Terry and brother Ehor. John is survived by his daughters Diane (Larry), Joanne (Randy),Oksana and Kathy (Terry). Proud Grandfather "Dido" of nine grandchildren and great grandfather of five. Also survived by his Godmother Helen and his daughter-in-law, Jane.
John was a draughtsman by trade. He went back to school to earn his teaching certificate and worked his entire life in St. Catharines. He helped to plan and build West Park Secondary School and served as its first Technical Director until his retirement. He enjoyed travelling, reading, watching cooking shows and playing bingo.
A proud first generation Canadian, John also always treasured his Ukrainian heritage. He served as a director of the Ukrainian (St. Catharines) Credit Union for 25 years. He was a member of the Ukrainian Business and Professional Club and the Ukrainian National Federation.
A private family funeral and interment have taken place. Please join us for a memorial service to honour our Dad on Friday July 13, 2018 at St. John the Theologian Ukrainian Catholic Church, 91 Lakeshore Rd at 10:30 am.
If desired, charitable donations in John's memory can be made to Toronto Sick Children's Hospital, Kidney Cancer Canada or the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
