Mark was always a gentle soul. Curious about British humour, kind and gentle. I always enjoyed being around Mark, his genuine personality always brought light to his every interaction. Jenny, Rick and Monika, I think about you often and with that, I think to about Mark. A great family, a tragic loss. Remember him the way I do. A nice man who cared for others.

I've been out of town, and was heartbroken to learn of Mark's passing. Mark was one of the sweetest, kindest, most pure-hearted people I know. I will remember our time together fondly, always.
From the first day I met Mark, I knew I had made a profound connection with someone whose inspiration and encouragement I will cherish always. Mark instantly made me feel understood and embraced. We bonded over deeply held values, dreams, love for family, and a passion for the sea. We talked about someday sailing the Carribean together. I took for granted that we would always have more time. Rest in peace sweet soul. My deepest condolences to the whole Zwolak family. I will never forget Mark as an endlessly curious, intelligent, deeply sensitive, and inspirational light in this sometimes gloomy world.

Mark's spirit is one that always be a part of us. He was such a special, loving, one of a kind person and his love and generosity was felt by everyone who met him. I have never known anyone quite like Mark, and I feel grateful that I had the chance to spend 2 years with him at Willowbank. Mark - you will always be remembered by your huge heart and genuine kindness. Sending all the love and support to Mark's family.

Mark was a wonderful and incredibly interesting, generous person. I will never forget the evening three of us wedding party gents spent getting to know St. Catharines, including “getting bridged,” which was an amazing experience for Colin and I - two Prairie Boys! Through this special night, and our earlier Mens’ Lunch with Rick, Mark continued to ensure we were welcomed into the Zwolak home. When we arrived back at 3:30am, Jennifer warmly greeted us - and fed us some of the great food she was preparing for the coming event. It was at this point that I knew my Brother had fallen in love with the right woman, Monika - and the right Family. I so wish I had the opportunity to get to know Mark more. I am grieving for him - and for all. We have all be touched by his special strengths in some way, and are all better people for having the privilege to have known him. His vast potential was untapped, but we can celebrate and honour him by doing our best to respect and treat each other in the best ways we possibly can. Mark would hope for that.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Zwolak, Monika, and all your family, please accept my condolences on the loss of your dear Mark. He was such a kind, generous, helpful, interesting, and pleasant person. Although we didn’t see each other regularly, we were friends for eleven years. We were deeply fond of each other, and he blessed my life in many, many ways. I am deeply saddened by his death.

The world has lost a great person. Mark was always full of energy, a positive person and a great conversationalist. He was an avid cyclist, traveller and had a love of roller coasters. Whether you saw him frequently or once in a while, you could always have a great conversation about new things he accomplished or places he travelled.
My condolences to his family and friends. Mark really was an amazing person.

We will always remember Mark and how he was our own personal tour guide during James & Monika’s wedding. Mark was so proud to welcome us all and honoured to show us all the sites of St Cathrines and Niagara-on-the-Lake. We had many laughs, he has such a charismatic personality. The love for his family was very apparent and the close relationship with Monika a very special one indeed. We are so sorry for you loss and that we didn’t have a chance to get to know him much better. Love to you all.

Mark, I'll miss your openness, kind, inquisitive and extremely emotionally intelligent qualities, you were a very unique and rare friend to have, and you always had such an intuitive spirit. I remember when we first met, we had some meaningful words and when we said our goodbyes you shook my hand without even looking, I say this because I was born with what people call a disability. You always had a deep interest in our conversations, and I did my best to reciprocate, I was so extremely fortunate to know you. I'll miss you as I'm sure many others will. Hopefully see you on the other side or in another lifetime.

My heart goes out to Uncle Rick, Jenny, and my cousin Monika. What can anyone say to help quell your tears and pain at the sudden loss of your beloved Mark?
Mark was such a special individual: so kind, so thoughtful, and so uniquely sensitive. He made a point of meeting all his cousins, from Lublin Poland to Palo Alto, California; it was something he just had to do.
It was so remarkably sweet getting that cold call in 1998, that he was in the Bay Area with friends and wanted to meet me. How many young guys take the trouble to contact every cousin, even his oldest one: me, 26 years his senior; we were our Zwolak grandparents' oldest and youngest grandchildren, but we got along very well, and I could see such a strong family affinity in looks and temperament with my late mother, Mark's Aunt Sabina, who, sadly, Mark and Monika (and Mary, Laura and Michael) never got to meet.
The otherwise lovely month of May will never be the same for me. Victoria Day weekend is now a memento mori for Mark and my late brother Casey, whose birthday was Victoria Day, and the cousin that Mark would never meet. It is just too heartbreaking.
There may not be a God in Heaven, but there absolutely are a few Zwolak-side angels up there in the starry sky.

I am so saddened to hear of Mark's passing. I first met him at Rise Above a few years ago and he enjoyed asking me about Theater and music. He even went with me to Shaw to see a play THE PHILADELPHIA STORY which he seemed to enjoy We had many lengthy conversations although there were long periods when our Facebook chat was on hold. I visited him at the hospital this past winter sometimes taking another mutual friend along. He appreciated our visits. I will miss going with him to other shows and events.
Most of all I want to send my condolences to his family at this difficult time. Mark was a special guy and I am glad to have had him in my life.

Very to sorry to hear of the passing of Mark. I feel very sorry for not being able to see him in the past few months to give to talk about whatever issues were going on. Mark was always a great person and friend even though we lost touch and when we did catch up and he told me stories of what he done, i told him sometimes people go a life time without achieving close to what he has done. He will be missed very much
My deepest sympathies to Jennifer, Rick and Monica.

It was through Mark that I first had an appreciation of Willowbank. We attended his presentation of a vision for Downtown St. Catharines which we found exciting. My personal contact with Mark was in the good times. I enjoyed his intelligence, curiosity, sensitivity and warmth. May his family find comfort in the love that he shared.
