Obituary of Joseph Karabinos
Karabinos, Joseph - September 9, 1940 - May 15, 2018. After a brief illness, Joe passed away peacefully with his wife by his side at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Beloved husband to Jacquie (nee Hilder) for 26 years. Loving dad to Kathryn (Craig) Wakefield, Michael (Cindy) and David. Cherished Dzedo to Rebecca, Cameron, Kylie, Madison, Nikolas and Brayden. Survived by his sister Mary (Al) Chodelka. Adored "Joe" to Marlene (Anthony) Orticello, Dale Cadeau, the late Timothy Cadeau, and Robin Cadeau. Papa Joe will be sadly missed by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, loving family members and close friends. Joe was the controller at Bell & Howell during his long career. As well, he was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1394 and an active parishioner at Star of the Sea Church. We will miss Joe's soft and caring nature and him breaking out the accordian to warm up the crowd!
All are invited to join the family for visiting on May 21, 2018 anytime between 12 - 4 pm at Star of the Sea Church, 34 Elgin Street, St. Catharines. Vigil prayers will be said in the church at 3 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Star of the Sea Church on Tuesday at 10 am with a luncheon to follow. Burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 7300 Hwy 27, Woodbridge. Memorial donations can be made to Covenant House. Arrangements are entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Home, 905-937-4444.
