Obituary of Stanley Welsh

WELSH, Stanley - Passed away peacefully at his home with his family on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Dora. Cherished father of Diane (Peter) Newman, Susan (Alan) Jostman, Mike Welsh and Kathy Welsh. Loving Grandpa of Jason (Lauren Harris) Newman, Meagan (Gareth Brown-Jowett) Newman and Jennifer Newman. Loving great Grandpa of Kennedy, Maddie, Anderson and McLean. Stanley is predeceased  by his sisters Anne Smith, Helen Brooks, Mary Nickerson and Bertha Hall, as well his brother Joe Woloch. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and his many dear friends. Stanley was a member of the Falcons, the first St. Catharines Junior A Hockey Team in 1944. He was well known in the community for the many businesses he was involved in. Stanley was an avid hunter and sports fan, who loved his Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Maple Leafs and Hamilton Tiger Cats. His many interests included breeding dogs, horse racing and working around his property. Stanley was most happy when he was surrounded by family and friends at the many celebrations they held at their home over the years. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, April 6th from 4p.m.-7p.m. A Celebration of Stanley's Life  will take place on Saturday, April 7th at 10a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery to follow.  Memorial donations to Community Living St. Catharines would be appreciated by the family.
