Obituary of Ruth Woodhouse
Passed peacefully on March 27, 2018 at the age of 86.
Born December 22, 1931 in Welland, Ontario, she lived in Fenwick Ontario since 1933.
Married to her best friend (predeceased) A. Edward Woodhouse for 48 years.
Remembered by her beloved children David (Theresa), Jim (Shelley), Paul (Laurel), grandchildren Ryan (Meghan), Andrew (Kayla), Dawn (James), Bryan, Tom, Kyle (Lisa), Alysa and great grandchildren Madison, Lucas, Logan, Pyper, Sailor and Peyton.
Predeceased by her parents Eileen and Edward Elliott, step mother Ruby, her brother Don
brother/sister-in-laws Keith (Wynn), Derwyn (Helen).
Remembered by sister-in-law Evelyn and niece April and nephew George, cousins, nephews and nieces from the Elliott’s and Woodhouse’s and the many north-end kids and Patty who frequented the house and cottage.
Ruth graduated from Hamilton General Hospital in 1954. She had a fulfilling and respected career as a Registered Nurse at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, St. Catharines for 29 years (Retired 1989).
She loved life, travel, crafts, cooking, sports, theater and especially the North. The many friends she gathered over the years through her involvement in clubs, church, cards and charitable activities were cherished. She loved to watch and hear about her children and grandchildren’s participation in sports and other pursuits.

Family and friends will be welcomed at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at St. Columba Church on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11am. Memorial donations made to Hospice Niagara or St. Columba Church would be appreciated by the family.
