Obituary of Catharine Kedzierski
KEDZIERSKI, Catharine
Passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 11th, 2018 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband Michal (1984), son Joseph (2016), son-in-law Wieslaw (2017). Adored mother of Mary Wierzcholski and mother-in-law to Barbara. Cherished Babcia to Adrienne, Greg (Sarah), Joanne (Pablo), Kathy (Nick), Sylvia (Chris) and Derek (Justiss). Prabi-Babi to Gabriel, Benjamin, Naomi, Eli, Jonah, Mason and Zosia. Catharine is survived by her sister Stefania and predeceased by her brothers Michal, Wladyslaw and sister Janina of Ukraine.
Born in her beloved Barysz, Poland, Catharine was an amazing, vibrant woman of integrity, strength and courage. Above all she was a woman of strong faith which sustained her during her young adult years with the Virgin Mary of Jazlowiec by her side. It was a faith that continued throughout the joys and sorrows of her life in Canada. She prayed daily for many things, but none more important than each of her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. She taught us the values of independence, hard work, honoring commitments and seeing a task through to the end. Family, love and tradition were all paramount values in Catharine’s life and will live on in each of us. Mama may have had her opinions, but she was always willing to listen to others. Catharine was blessed to be a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church since immigrating to Canada in 1962, worked at the New Murray Hotel for four years and then became the proud owner of the St. Joseph’s Bakery since the late 1960’s. A sincere thank you to niece Hania of Ukraine for her caring and compassion.
