DIDONE, Joseph

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the age of 87. Loving husband of 62 years to Frances. Beloved father of Anna (Colin) Morrison, Angela (Neil) Duerksen and Christine (Mark) Sotola. Cherished grandpa to Brett (Kaitlyn), Leslie (Tyler), Christine (Steven), Rebecca (Tony), Joshua (Jordana), Adam (Tanya), Eric (Maryann), Matthew (Linda), Alexandra (Mitchell), and Gabrielle. Great grandfather to Hayden and Claire. Special uncle to Tom (Peri) Ongarato. Predeceased by his siblings, Leona and Carmela.

 

Joe retired from Thompson Products (TRW) after 39 years of service. Dad had a passion for hockey, winning many Northern Ontario championships with the South Porcupine Teepees. He will be remembered for his love of family and for his Montreal Canadiens.

 

The family would like to thank the staff at Upper Canada Lodge in N-O-T-L for their devoted care over the past three years.

 

Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Tuesday, February 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Tuesday at 3 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, February 14 at 12 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pathstone Mental Health.
