Obituary of Marguerite Stevens
STEVENS, Marguerite (nee CROFT)
Passed away peacefully on February 4, 2018 in her 97th year at her Ina Grafton Gage Village residence. Marg was born in St. Catharines in 1921 and was a longtime resident of Port Dalhousie. Predeceased by her husband John (September 2, 2003) whom she married in 1941. Also predeceased by her mother Ethel Croft (nee Holt) (1975) and brother Edward Croft (1941). Survived by sons Neil (Cathie) of Brampton; Bill (Ivy) of Port Dalhousie; and daughter Carolyn (Bruce) Thompson of Welland. Grandmother to Jessica (Craig) Martell, Paula Stevens (Michael Mahy), Kimberley Stevens (Dinuka Perera); Brent (Kerri) Stevens, Michael Stevens; Brandy Thompson (Mike) and Craig Thompson (Alicia) and eight great grandchildren. Also survived by her brother Kenneth (Elinor) Croft and their family. The family would like to thank all of mom's caregivers, staff of Ina Grafton and Dr. J. Rosloski. Arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 905 937 4444. In keeping with Marg's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation with a private family inurnment at a later date at St. John's Cemetery, Port Dalhousie. In lieu of flowers if desired donations to St. John's Anglican Church or Port Dalhousie Lawn Bowling Club both of which Marguerite was a longtime member.
