Obituary of Salpi Belian
BELIAN, Salpi
Passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 26, 2018. Predeceased by her husband Jean (1954-2006). Survived by her adoring sons Misak and Sevag.
Salpi was born in Qamishly, Syria on August 4, 1962 and moved to Canada in 1984. In 1991 she moved to Lebanon where she married Jean. After losing her husband in 2006, Salpi moved back to Canada where she and her brother John Seklemian ran their own Dry Cleaning and Clothing Alteration business. Salpi was an active member of the Armenian Community Centre of St. Catharines, the Armenian Relief Society of Canada and the St. Paul Armenian Apostolic Church Parish where she served on the Board of Directors and Ladies Guild. An active, vibrant and dynamic woman, Salpi was loved and respected dearly by her family and friends in Canada and abroad and will be sadly missed. For those lucky enough to have known Salpi, close your eyes and remember her doing the things that she loved: travelling, reading, playing cards, dancing, sewing, watching movies, and most of all, spending time with the ones she loved.
