Obituary of Iolanda Damiano

DAMIANO, Iolanda Peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 Iolanda passed away at Chateau Gardens in Niagara On The Lake at the ripe age of 96. Iolanda has been reunited with her beloved husband Raffaele (1977). Loving mother of the late Rinaldo (2004) and survived by her daughter in law Giuseppina. Cherished Nonna of Ralph (Brenda) and Gino (Joanne). Great grandmother of Marc (Amanda), Deanna, Kristen and Danielle. Iolanda also leaves behind her extended family in Italy. Iolanda lived a nice long life living in both Italy and Canada. Iolanda will be greatly missed by her family. She will be remembered as being a strong individual and having a sharp mind right up to her last moments. A special thank you to Chateau Gardens nursing staff for their great care. Iolanda's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Wednesday, January 25 from 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St., at 11:00 a.m. The Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be celebrated in the funeral home on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Diabetes Association.
