It was with great sadness that we heard of Terry's passing. We first met him when he became the Assessment Commissioner in Thunder Bay. He was a good and decent man and a very fair boss. He led by example and earned our respect.
Terri was fortunate to work with him again in the St. Catharines Assessment Office. We were both privileged to know him. We are happy that a reunion with Margo will occur. They were a wonderful couple.
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his family.
Ian & Terri.

My sincere condolences to the family.
I and my family feel fortunate to have called Terry our friend.
He was always a very kind, helpful, thoughtful person with a good sense of humour....a real gentleman.
Terry was such a constant friend to our family, visiting my husband ,Tom, many times while in hospital and at home. Always interested in everyone and everything and of course....especially, horses.
He helped our family several times when filming Murdoch Mysteries, Anne of Green Gables, at the Avalon theatre N.F... Spirit of christmas show ...and other shows...driving a horse and buggy , holding a horse or doing whatever needed!
His wonderful qualities will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
Sincerely.....Jan Bishop

Such a terrible loss of a fine gentleman who was our neighbour for only a few years since moving to the Residences of Jordan Village. Terry was a joy to talk to and we enjoyed the pride he had in chatting about the many ventures he spent with family. Along with the tales of his love for horses, he was thrilled with the auto racing career of his grandson and so enjoyed attending the races.
Last but not least, Terry enjoyed his volunteer jobs and felt in his heart that it was so important to help out those less fortunate. Terry was signed up to volunteer at the Community Care of West Niagara Food Drive this Saturday but was sadly taken from us a week previous. He was surely missed by all who had worked with him in previous years but he made sure from the heavens above that we had terrific weather ensuring the generosity of donors for a very successful food drive.
God bless you Terry,
George and Jan Takach

Dear Wilkes Family: We were very sorry to learn this news about Terry. We got to know Terry (I always called him Mr. Wilkes, although he insisted on Terry) when we lived in the Residences at Jordan Village. Always smiling and ready for a conversation he was a good neighbour and a true gentleman. Thinking of all of you at this sad time. Sending our sincere condolences to all of you. Terry Wilkes was a true gentleman who always spoke so highly of his family with love and pride. As the show manager for Tri-County Carriage Association I knew Terry could always be counted on to help with our shows and all enjoyed being in his company. He was always willing to encourage others and share his wisdom. He will be greatly missed by all members of our club and we all send condolences to the family at this sad time.

Hi there
I wanted to give condolences to the family. Terry was a much loved person in our family also and a big part of my parents' life. He was a great help for my Dad in the hospital and a great support to my mother. I always knew that I would see Terry when I came home from Alberta, as he came on his regular Tuesday and Thursday coffee visits. He loved to here the updates from out west. He will be sorely missed by all of us.
Sincerely,
Sally Bishop

I was so sadden to hear of Terry's passing, and so surprised.
I worked for him for many years, had the up-most respect for him as a man and as my Commissioner, a person who believed to lead by example, personally well as professionally.
He always supported me in my career decisions, was always watching for any opportunity.
A perfect example was when I was on maternity leave, a new position was created and available in our office, he called me at home to talk to me about it, he knew it was the direction I wanted to go, and wanted to make sure I didn't miss the chance to go for it, if that is what I wanted. I have never had the guidance and support in my entire career as I had with him. Thank you Terry.
My sincerest condolences to his daughters Kim and Helen, to his grandson Garett, and to all his family.
Terry was one of the good ones, he definitely was, I can just see Margo teasing the heck out of him and him laughing as he did.
Sincerely,
Penny and Carl Christie

So sorry for your huge loss. It will leave a huge hole in your heart that eventually will start to fill up with wonderful memories. Terry was a big part on my life for many years at the horse shows and boarding at the barn. We had a lot of long chats. A humerous memory for you...one day he was riding his not so quiet horse in the arena trying to get him used to the giant ball. He said "Oh look Shirley how close I can get him to the ball." Next instant horse touched the ball, ball moved and Terry was on the ground. Hope this gives you a tiny laugh today. Hugs.
