Obituary of Leona Forshner
Leona forshner, in her 77th year passed peacefully June 17, 2017 at the St. Catharines General Hospital with her loving husband Winston by her side.
Leona is survived by her loving husband Winston of 48 years, and adoring children, Cyndy Burnham, Joan "Pepsie" Burnham, Wendell Burnham, Anita (Mike) Burnham, Wanda Burnham, Lisa (Gordie) MacRae, Step sons Roger Burnham, Farley Burnham. As well as her many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren & Great Geat Grandchildren. Leona's Brothers Harlen (Bev) Bomberry, Gorden (Della) & (Tricia) Bomberry, sister Alice (late Claude) Aubin will also remember her. She is Predeaceased by her sons Brian (Darcy) Bomberry, Rocky Lee Burnham as well as her parents Leaman and Ethel Bomberr and her Brothers and sisters, Alvin (Peanuts) Bomberry, Stewart Bomberry, Merna Bomberry, Marlene Clause.
Leona was a long standing active member of the Silver Foxes seniors club (one of her main enjoyments) at Niagara Regional Native Centre, she wore many hats during her 30 years of employment there.
Leona was a proud Indigenous woman full of compassion and a larger than life personality, loved by many. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
Visitaton will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. A Burial will follow visitation at 12 p.m. at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Queenston St. A Reception will follow the Burail at the Niagara Regional Native Centre, 382 Airport Rd., Niagara-on-the-Lake.
