I just learned about Ed and had never dreamed that he could no longer be with us on earth.
My memories of all the times that we spend together at Queens, the visits to his lovely, generous and welcoming family at their St Catharines home (when we went out partying at the "Falls" or over to the "States" in the summers) and all the escapades that we went through at Queen's (which I won't repeat here) are, and always will be, fresh and vivid to me. Ed will will always be fresh in my mind.
It is unfortunate that we had not seen each other for close to 30 years. One always thinks that it is a simple matter of "Googling" a close old friend, and I had had though of doing so many times but unfortunately did not do so.
There is a lesson, "Never Take Anything for Granted".
I know that Ed always had a warm, generous and caring family and that he will be deeply missed. I want to extend my deepest condolences to all of his family.
Ed will always be in my heart and memories.

So very sorry to hear that Ed is gone so soon. He was a bright spot during 1973-74 when we both lived in Leonard Hall at Queen's. He always had the biggest smile while that great mind whirred away trying to figure out what we were up to after class ended and the fun began. Ed's biggest claim to fame those years was that he was the record-holder for the most vertebrae fused via spinal fusion. He never let it slow him down which we all admired. Rest easy friend.

It was with great sadness and heavy heart I heard the tragic news of Ed's passing. Shocking. My youth came flooding back. We all grew up together. I shed a tear for Ed.
How fleeting life is. So many years have passed and yet it seems like yesterday. I remember Ed as such a harmless affable soul. And with so much yet to give. Such a tragedy. Gone too soon. My thoughts are with you all at the difficult time. May the love of God and all the cherished memories sustain you all. Irene
