PAHL, Adolf
Adolf Pahl died suddenly at his home in St. Catharines on May 25, 2017 at the age of 84. Adolf is survived by his daughter Carole (Klaus) Schwarz, and his sons Richard (Sharon) Pahl and Randal (Kalliope) Pahl. He is also survived by his grandchildren Erik (Rebecca) Schwarz, Kurt (Rachel) Schwarz, Constantine Pahl, Jamie (Wade) Stafford, Shari Steed, and his great grandchildren Logan, Jade, Kaleb, Emme, Otto, and Oskar. Also survived by his brother Johannes Pahl and sister Irma Sorgenfrei. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Lilly. Adolf was born July 17, 1932 in Cobadin, Romania to Johannes and Johanna Pahl. He was apprenticed in Germany as a tool and die maker and immigrated to Canada on the Beaverbrae II in 1951 from Bremerhaven, Germany. He met the love of his life, Lilly, at Club Heidelberg and they married on July 14, 1956. He retired from General Motors in 1992 as a millwright and licensed auto mechanic. He was a founding member of G.T.E.V. Alpenroesl, Club Heidelberg soccer team, and Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church. His constant companion was his German Volksmusik. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday, May 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Adolf's life will take place on Tuesday, May 30 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.
