A hole now in all of our lives. A little older than I, Liam knew me from infancy, never condescended as someone older, he always treated me well. While families squabble Liam was always the peacemaker and treated everyone the same, he was the binder that held us all together.
Our email conversations were great fun, his insights always full of wit and humour.
A connoisseur his interest in travel, photography and art were great examples of how he embraced life, his wife, his children, his granddaughter and all of us in his extended family.
Sorely missed.

Anne,Pauline,Caroline,Kevin and Alicia,we are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a great neighbor and a great friend to us. From his emails and the phone conversations I had with Jim this winter I knew he was having a hard time with his health. We were all hoping and praying that he could have stayed strong enough until a lung was available. He will not be suffering anymore. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Rest in peace Liam.

Caroline and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I only met Liam once but it was a wonderful evening around the bbq at Caroline's in London. I was so glad to meet the dad she spoke about with a smile so often. You are in my thoughts. Love, Denise

I was saddened to hear the news that Uncle Liam passed away. I have wonderful memories of him from our regular visits growing up. I remember Christmases together and the sandbox he built, which we played in for years. He will be remembered fondly.

Dearest Mallan family: So very, very sad to hear about Jim's passing. I remember him so fondly from his visits to Caroline when we shared a flat in Ottawa or when he came to see her in London. He would swan in with that lovely twinkle in his eye and his thick Scottish accent amusing us all. He was so full of life and we could see why Caroline adored him. One thing was always clear - he was a man who loved his wife, his daughters and his beloved grand-daughter. My deepest condolences to you all. Go in peace Jim. Love, Anneke
