Obituary of Maria Incoronata Grossi

GROSSI, Maria Incoronata (nee Fratangelo) - With deep sadness, with her loving family by her side after her courageous battle with cancer, Maria has gone to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the St. Catharines Hospital at the age of 78. Cherished Mother of Agatha (Rocky) Colella, Teresa (Dan) Glassman, Tina (John) Cardillo and Debbie (Darryl) Kaine. Loving Nonna of Alicia, Alessandra, Nadia, Austin, Serena, Alcina and GianLuca. Great Grandmother of Owen, Aria, Abel and Chiara. She is predeceased by her parents Giovannino and Maria Teresa Fratangelo and her brothers Vito, Fred and Tullio. Maria was born August 2nd, 1938 in Castellino del Biferno, Provincia di Campobasso, Molise, Italy. Maria's family arrived in Canada in 1950. Her passion for flowers made her an avid gardener. Maria devoted her time to her family and her grandchildren. Mom enjoyed her Faith with her family and friends. A sincere thank you to all of the staff at the Walker Cancer Centre, CCAC staff, Nurses Alex and Marek. A special thank you to Dr. Anna Kobylecky for all of her care and compassion. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL; 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, April 5th from 2-4p.m. & 6-9p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Wednesday at 3p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, April 6th at 11a.m. Entombment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
