Obituary of Anneliese "Ann" Marta Winter

WINTER, Anneliese "Ann" Marta It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful Mom on Monday, Feb 27, 2017. Anneliese was born on Aug 29, 1934, in East Germany to Marta and Max Gonschior. She is the beloved sister of Inge, Klaus and Ursel. She is predeceased by siblings Heinz, Gerda and Doris. Ann was the Beloved wife and soulmate of Gerhard (1998). Precious Mother and friend of Peter, Linda, Marion (1969), Garry (2012), Anny, Karin (Brad) and Barbara. Mom was the caring and loving Oma of Lauren, Kristen, Lindsay, Holly, Corey, Elly, Tawnya, Sarah, Amber, Jessica, Bradley, Ariel and Arden as well as 17 Great Grandchildren. Mom is now in heaven with our Dad, her children Marion, Garry, Great Grandaughter Emilie, Son-in-law Webb and Daughter-in-law Melinda. In Mom's latter years, she always reminisced about the past, asking for her parents and siblings. She would cry when we told her they were in Heaven. It gives us comfort knowing that they are all re-united. Besides raising 7 children, Mom worked outside the home, ending her career at Heidehof where she was a Cook for 22 years. Mom was the most loving, caring woman who will always be remembered for her smile and big hugs. We will be forever grateful for the strength, courage and wisdom she showed us our entire lives. Her unconditional love and warmth was not just felt by her family but also everyone she met. Special thanks to Staff and Volunteers at Linhaven Home and much gratitude to Kirsten for all her kindness. Thank you to our sister Barbara for being Mom's best friend all these years. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wed. A Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 12 p.m. A Rite of Committal will follow Mass at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, Queenston St. In memory of Ann, donations can be made to Linhaven.
