Obituary of Leo Rustin

Rustin, Leo Passed away peacefully at Niagara Falls General Hospital on January 24, 2017 at the age of 84 surrounded by his family. He will be dearly missed by his longtime partner and companion Jane Daniels. Much loved father of Mark, Chris (Caroline), Cathy (Doug) Aitkens, Michele, Bill (Tammy) Daniels, Laurie (Mike) Hofmans-Randall, Doug (Rhonda) Daniels, and Lee (Tracy) Daniels. Cherished Grandfather of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His 4-legged best friend Max will miss hanging out with Leo. Dear brother of Donna (Bob) Anderson, Pat (Rob) Reid, Paul (Tina) Rosenblatt, Theresa (the late Jan) Jarzabeck, Terry (Val) Rosenblatt, Joanne Babcock. Predeceased by his first wife Joan, sister Marilyn Mills and brother Peter Rosenblatt. Leo will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and close friends. Leo was Chairperson of the G.M. Bargaining Committee in St. Catharines before going on staff with the UAW-CAW National Union as a Union Representative. After retirement, Leo enjoyed camping at Port Severn, spending winters in Florida, boating, golfing with his buds and travelling with his family and friends. Leo enjoyed great conversation and debates. He was loving, caring, funny, laughed infectiously, sang richly and was an all around great guy. Leo so enjoyed having a drink or 2 with his family and friends. He will be truly missed. A Celebration of Leo’s Life for family and friends will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1pm at Coppola’s Banquet Facility, 203 Carlton St., St. Catharines. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has already taken place. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice or Leo was a great supporter of local food banks and any donations would be appreciated by the family.
