Obituary of David Carleton Claus

Claus, David - On Wednesday January 18, 2017 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 70. Beloved dad to his daughter Carrie and son Ryan. Cherished Grandpa to Avery, Kiersten and Chase. Loving brother to John (Dawn) and Gary. Devoted son to Ruth and uncle to Terra (Rob), Brandon (Christina), Trevor and Brittany. Great Uncle to Liam, Gavin and Molly. Predeceased by his father Carleton. Dave was employed at Bell Canada for 31 years. He loved living on his boat in the summer months at the Port Dalhousie Marina and watching the sunsets and loud thunderstorms. Dave enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hanging out with his friends and most of all being with family and grandkids. The family wishes to thank the staff in the ICU unit of the hospital for the wonderful care and attention given to Dave during his time there. The family will receive family and friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Sunday between 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Ceremony will take place in the funeral home on Monday at 11am with burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Association in Dave's honour.
