Obituary of Emilio Sebastiano Zecchin

Zecchin, Emilio - Passed away with his loving family in his presence on Wednesday January 4, 2017 at Juravinski Hospital at the age of 79. Two weeks short of his 80th birthday on January 20th. Beloved husband of 46 years to Giuliana (nee Vani). Loving step-father to Rita, Mary, Linda (Larry), and Teresa (Eric). Cherished Nonno to Juliana (Julian), TerriAnne, Maria, Katie (Rob), and Christopher (Savannah). Also survived by his great grandsons Sebastian and Terence. Devoted brother to Lino, and Attilio and their families of Italy. Will be sadly missed by his sisters and brother-in-law Roma, Mirella, John, and Joanne and their families. Predeceased by his parents Francesco and Maria, and siblings Bruno, Pietro, Teresa, and Gianina. Will be sadly missed by many loving family members and friends. Emilio was a proud member of Club Roma for over 50 years, where he played bocce with friends. He was also a member of St. Alfred's Church where he took part in being an usher for Italian mass. Also, he enjoyed his visits with friends at the Fairview Mall and Tim Horton's. The family would like extend their many thanks to the ICU doctors and nurses at Juravinski Hospital that took great care of Emilio. The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Friday between 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 3:30 pm. Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, on Saturday at 9:30 am. Burial will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Kidney Foundation or Juravinski Hospital in Emilio's honour.
