It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and Dido on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Vera. Loving father of Patricia (late Timothy) Hrycusko, Natalie (Romeo) Wawrow and Greg (Pat). Cherished Dido of Noah, Kyla, Talya, Adrianna, Kalyna and Kristyn. Dear brother of Ramona Hnatiw of Philadelphia and Maryna Shymkiv in Ukraine. Zenon is also survived by his sister-in-law Christine Yakymishen (Brian McKillop), his niece Gloria (Dominic) Divalerio and also nieces in Ukraine. Zenon was a long time employee with the City of St. Catharines. In his free time he enjoyed gardening and was also a member of the St. Catharines Cribbage League. Zenon served on the Executive and was a long time member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. George.
Mr. Taras' family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.. Funeral Liturgy will take place at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. George, 8 Augusta Ave, on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. George or the Niagara Health System- New Hospital Foundation.
