Obituary of Martha Coffey

COFFEY, Martha Suddenly and without warning on Friday, September 30th, 2016. Martha was born in Ottawa on September 30, 1943, the second daughter of Ruth and Pat Coffey. Along with her sister Louise Hastings she graduated from Branksome Hall. She lived in Toronto, the U.K. and Melbourne Australia. She worked as an accountant for several leading architecture and urban planning firms. Ever the athlete, Martha played tennis, ran multiple marathons and later in life found her real passion - rowing. She was an accomplished masters rower and Rowing Canada Aviron umpire. She served as President of the Argonaut Rowing Club in Toronto and it became her second home. Sister, aunt, great aunt and friend, she made a mark with an infectious smile & laugh and love of life and family. She leaves us far too soon. A farewell tribute ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Argonaut Rowing Club in Toronto, 1225 Lakeshore Blvd. West, Toronto, Ontario, M6K 3C1.
