Obituary of Hugh Monteith Geddes

GEDDES, Hugh Monteith Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at Ina Grafton Home at the age of 84. Predeceased by his cherished wife Isabella "June" (1986) and much loved son David (1997). He leaves behind his loving daughter Karen (Todd) Hart, loving daughter in law Teresa (Robin) Ruscio and cherished Papa of Alison, Liam, Conner and Julia. He leaves behind his sister Deborah "Dora" (the late Andrew) Duncan, brother James (the late May) Geddes in Scotland, sisters in law Evelyn (Tom) Yates and Margaret Taylor, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be missed deeply by his special girlfriend Ann Potthast, his best friend Des Bishop, and his "Weans" Brodie and Lola. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Hugh's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Wednesday, August 31st from 7-9pm. A service to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, September 1st at 11:30am. There will be a private family inurnment at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.

Cremation

In keeping with Hugh's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a private inurnment at a later date.

Reception

There will be a reception following the ceremony in the Kristen French Fellowship Hall, located in the lower level of the funeral home. There is an elevator for anyone requiring assistance.
